How does Made in Abyss end? ›

By destroying the city, Faputa's main reason for being is removed, and she is able to live on unfettered by a preconceived notion of how she can be valuable to her mother. This culminates in a beautiful moment of Faputa reveling in her newfound freedom as the episode ends.

Made in Abyss will indeed be getting a third season, but we don't know when it'll actually be released. For those unaware, the story of Made in Abyss revolves around a young girl named Riko. Her mom was an explorer who disappeared while diving into the eponymous abyss and was never seen again.
